🚂 Fond-de-Gras, a precious witness to Luxembourg’s mining history, invites you to an exceptional railway experience on Sunday, October 1st. While our site is renowned for its majestic steam locomotives, this time we have a completely different and captivating surprise : an event featuring an impressive fleet of Diesel locomotives dating back to the 1950s !
🚆 Join us for a memorable day as the locomotives of the “1604 Classics” association take over the tracks of Fond-de-Gras. These steel gems, such as locomotives 1806, 1604, 856, 804, 455, 1023, as well as the authentic railcars Z208 (Westwaggon) and Z105 (De Dietrich), will be in action throughout the day. A rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the era of Diesel locomotives and relive the atmosphere of the 1950s!
The mining train “Minièresbunn” will also be part of the event, ready to amaze you with demonstrations near the volunteers’ workshop. A unique opportunity to discover the secrets of the mining industry and delve into the fascinating history of our region. Please note that there will be no mine tours on this occasion.
