Viewpoints is a method of theatrical improvisation and collective creation, developed in the United States and practised in theatre schools throughout the world. It is intended for professionals in all artistic disciplines as well as for non-professionals.
non-professionals.
It encourages participants to create their own snippets of stories using everything that an unusual place has to offer (the architecture, the people who walk through it, the conversations that happen there). By looking at our surroundings, we will try to uncover places that are suitable for theatrical exploration and invention. We will ask ourselves what stories are hidden in the walls, in the movement, in the sounds. What does this place tell us? What is going on there?
Together we will create original improvisations.
The workshop organised by the Ampersand Variations collective brings together professional and non-professional artists and is a working stage in the creation of the performance Desire Lines which will take place on 30 July in the Sainte-Barbe church in Lasauvage. It is an opportunity to familiarise oneself with the work of the collective, but also to meet the artists and
and to discuss the preparation and realisation of the final project with them. If they wish, the participants will have the possibility to be part of the final show.
