This railway shed was built at the beginning of the 20th century by the Paul Wurth workshops in Luxembourg-Hollerich. It housed the compressors that supplied compressed air to the company’s machine shops and foundry. The building was dismantled and rebuilt at Fond-de-Gras in 1988 by INPA (Institut national pour le patrimoine architectural). To enable it to take on new functions, the building was enlarged by the addition of side wings and its pedimented façade was pierced by large portals.
Today, the building is used as a shed for the Train 1900 association’s railway equipment. The main track, equipped with a work pit and overhead crane, is used by members of the association for maintenance and restoration work. From time to time, the hall hosts various cultural events.
