For this traditional open day, a very special locomotive is being honoured. The Cockerill 503 locomotive is celebrating its centenary! Very recognisable thanks to its small size and vertical boiler, it has been delighting visitors to the Fond-de-Gras for the past twenty years.
On the programme :
- circulation of 3 steam locomotives and 2 diesel locomotives; two of them are from the manufacturer John Cockerill
- exhibition devoted to the Cockerill 503 locomotive, the history of its manufacturer and its involvement in the Luxembourg steel industry
- exhibition of the very talented photographer Stéphane Janiec
- discovery of the Train 1900 material: exhibition of locomotives and engines with explanatory panels
- guided tours of the workshops and railway sheds where volunteers work to preserve the precious historical equipment
- draisine races
- music, barbecue and drinks all day long
